The topic is “Past and Future Changes in Greenland ClimateThe average weather we would expect over a long period of time (seasons, years, decades). Climate varies from place-to-place across the Earth. Climate is determined by long-term (over at least... More history and proxies. There will also be opportunities for hiking and to experience oceanographic data and sediment core collection. More broadly, the summer school aims to develop skills in cross-discipline collaboration and communication, and to build a strong and healthy early-career science network.
Confirmed lecturers so far include Fiamma Straneo, Kerim Nisancioglu, Donald Slater, David Battisti and Camilla Andresen.
The target audience for the summer school is advanced graduate (PhD) students, and applications from those who have recently completed PhDs will also be considered. We are able to accommodate around 20 students.
Applications are now open and will close on 15 March 2023. We encourage applications from Greenland-based students and under-represented minority groups.
Full information including costs and details of how to apply can be found on both the ACDC website (https://www.uib.no/en/rs/acdc/160261/acdcgriso-2023) and GRISO website (https://griso.ucsd.edu/acdc-griso-summer-school-2023-past-and-future-changes-in-greenland-climate/).
