Cornelya, researcher at INTERACT partner NIBIO Svanhovd, is reaching out to the public to fill out an online questionnaire on freshwater pearl mussels and salmonid fishes. She is currently working on ecosystemAll the living organisms (including people) in an area as well as its physical environment, functioning together as a unit. An ecosystem is made up of plants, animals, microorganisms, soil,... More services of freshwater pearl mussels and salmonids in the European Green Belt/northern Europe and Russia (https://www.nibio.no/en/projects/salmus–salmonid-fish-and-freshwater-pearl-mussel–ecosystem-services-and-biodiversity-in-the-green-belt-of-fennoscandia?locationfilter=true).
The research group is currently asking the public to fill out an online questionnaire (Investigating social, cultural, and ecological benefits of freshwater pearl mussels and salmonid fishes in rivers), available online on www.nibio.no/ecosystem-services-survey . The aim of this survey is to gain more knowledge on how different groups of the public perceive freshwater pearl mussels and salmonid fish species and their importance for the conservation of freshwater ecosystems. More information can be found on the website which includes a detailed description of the survey as well as the link to the survey. The survey is available in eight languages (English, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, and Russian), including three Sami languages (Northern Sami, Skolte Sami, and Lule Sami).
Cornelya and her group would be thankful for any help in distributing this survey onwebsites, in newsletters, and/or social media as they aim to include as many perspectives on this as possible.
Thanks a lot in advance for your help!
