MALIOT is a project funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) and it is now looking for participants in a crowdsourcing campaign to collect data for better weather (and space weather) forecasts. The CAMALIOT app will use data from The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) that is a set of satellites that orbit the Earth.By using crowd-sourced GNSS data from many mobile phones around the world, they hope to create better inputs to weather prediction models so that local rainfall events are forecast more accurately.
